The California Raisins were a fictional musical group that was created in 1986 to help sell Sun-Maid raisins. Despite being composed of animated, anthropomorphized raisins, the band managed to gain significant popularity in the late 80s and early 90s, and they even appeared in the Emmy-winning holiday special, A Claymation Christmas Celebration.
