This cool black tee celebrates the famous Gold's Gym. This chain of fitness centers was named for its founder, the man who is often credited as the father of bodybuilding, Joe Gold. The original Gold's Gym was opened in 1965, back when bodybuilding was still considered more of a fringe sport. Gold's was opened in Venice Beach, where it became the signature training grounds of legendary bodybuilders like Dave Draper, Lou Ferrigno, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Despite being popular among the local community, Gold's didn't actually become significantly successful until it was taken over by Ken Sprague in 1971. Sprague was a member who had connections with the film industry, and he used this influence to secure Gold's Gym as the primary filming location for the docudrama Pumping Iron. The groundbreaking film wound up putting both bodybuilding and the gym on the map.
The tag says large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult medium
