This amazing tee features an incredible drawing of Magneto, a powerful and villainous mutant that was first created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby back in the 60s. Since his debut in The X-Men #1, Magneto has served as one of Marvel Comics' most formidable antagonists. He's also one of the most popular villains in the Marvel universe, thanks to the character's nuance and sympathetic backstory. A Holocaust survivor, Magneto's extreme views are largely born out of a determination to protect mutants from the same persecution that he once suffered, making his character all the more complex and relatable.
The artwork on this tee was drawn by Mike Deodato Jr., a Brazilian born artist who first began working for Marvel in the 90s. This image was made in the early 2000s and used as the cover art for The New Avengers #20. This cover was used during the series' House of M and The Collective arc, which involved Scarlet Witch altering the history of the planet in a way that allowed Magneto to become ruler of the Earth. This story arc then led into one of Marvel's most iconic story lines, Civil War.
