This sweet double sided shirt is for the influential horror punk band the Misfits, and it showcases their fiend skull logo, which is modeled after the mask used in the 1946 movie serial, The Crimson Ghost. This shirt is copyright 2001, which was the same year that the compilation album Cuts from the Crypt was released. The shirt is also licensed to Cyclopian Music Inc., the record label owned by bassist Jerry Only.
In the early 2000s, the Misfits were performing with their reformed lineup that did not feature the group's original lead singer Glenn Danzig, and there had actually been some lengthy legal battles before Danzig agreed to allow Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein to continue recording and performing under the Misfits name.
After this decision was made, the band released albums such as American Psycho and Famous Monsters, which instead featured Michale Graves on lead vocals. This stirred up some mixed opinions from fans who'd been introduced to the group through Danzig and his other bands. Meanwhile, other fans were happy for the new content that included tracks like "Scream", "Helena", and "Dig Up Her Bones".
Fits like a modern unisex adult oversized large. There's a repair on the back of the left sleeve when wearing, see pics.
