This amazing shirt pays tribute to one of the most legendary thrash metal albums of all time, Metallica's Master of Puppets. The first thrash metal record to ever go platinum, Master of Puppets has ranked among numerous best album lists, including Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. It was also the final album released from Metallica before the tragic death of their beloved bassist Cliff Burton.
It was actually during the album's promotional tour, that Burton was killed in an accident aboard their tour bus. Both fans and the remaining band members were devastated by his loss, but it was far from the end of the band's career. After canceling more than a month's worth of dates, Metallica returned to the stage with former Flotsam and Jetsam bassist Jason Newsted. The group had surmised that Burton would have wanted them to continue on in his absence, and the band's legacy only grew from there.
Their next album ...And Justice For All contained many songs that were composed before Burton's death, and the track "To Live Is to Die" was dedicated to his memory. Like Master of Puppets, the album went certified platinum, and it also gained the band a Grammy nomination for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.
Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large. There's some fading on the shoulder, see pics.
