The Florida State Seminoles are a Division I school and they are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Seminoles have won three national championships in football as well as numerous conference and division titles. In the late 70s, the team began a winning season streak that lasted over 40 years. The Seminoles have produced over 200 NFL players including Deion Sanders, who is the only athlete to have played in both the Super Bowl and the World Series. Actor Burt Reynolds also played for the Seminoles football team until he suffered several injuries that ended his football career before it could really start.
The Seminoles football team has been around for over 100 years and is known for their storied history and unique relationship with the Seminole tribe in Florida, who have authorized the use of tribal imagery and work closely with the team. The team's official symbols are Osceola and Renegade, a rider and an appaloosa horse, who ride to midfield before every game and plant a burning spear in the turf to kick things off.
