This cool double-sided tee celebrates the self-titled debut album for the alternative rock band Porno for Pyros. The band consisted of Perry Farrell and Stephen Perkins from Janes' Addiction, as well as Peter DiStefano and Martyn LeNoble. In 1991, Dave Navarro and Eric Avery left Jane's Addiction in order to get control over their substance abuse issues, but Farrell and Perkins were still interested in making music together, thus inspiring them to create Porno for Pyros.

The band's name and several of the its songs are a reference to the 1992 Los Angeles Riots that resulted from the acquittal of four LAPD officers who were charged with excessive force during the arrest and subsequent beating of Rodney King. The band actually went on a nationwide tour to promote themselves before the release of their debut album, and the interest stirred by the tour was enough for the album to reach the No. 3 position on the Billboard 200. Their popularity was also boosted by the heavy MTV airplay received by the music video for their single "Pets".

Porno for Pyros continued to tour extensively after the release of their album, and they even made an appearance at Woodstock '94. The band's shows were unique from Jane's Addiction, who were known for their more straight forward style. Porno for Pyros instead opted to incorporate numerous props, extras and special effects like pyrotechnics.
