This cool vintage race tee comes from a 1985 run that was organized by Greenpeace in Hawaii. This run was dubbed the "Dash for the Dolphins" and it's safe to assume that it was a fundraising event designed to raise money for conservation efforts centered around dolphins. Greenpeace has a long history of fighting for the protection of marine mammals, and they are largely responsible for bringing mass attention to the threats of commercial whaling. This shirt depicts three different types of dolphins, and the three most common dolphin species seen around Hawaii are spinner, spotted, and bottlenose dolphins.
