This awesome raglan tee celebrates the band Journey, and it was made around the height of their massive popularity. This shirt has double sided graphics commemorating a concert tour in California. While the back includes a portrait of the band above the words, "rockin' in California", the front features an amazing illustration from Stanley Mouse. As two of the most prolific illustrators in rock and roll at the time, Mouse and his partner Alton Kelley were responsible for the cover art of several Journey albums, including Infinity, Evolution, and most notably Escape.
The copyright on this tee is 1981, the same year that Journey released Escape, which went on to become their most commercially successful studio album of all time. Escape topped the Billboard chart and included iconic hits like "Who's Crying Now", "Still They Ride", "Open Arms", and the band's signature song "Don't Stop Believin'". To promote the release, Journey embarked on a lengthy tour that also featured Billy Squier, Point Blank, Greg Kihn Band, and Loverboy as openers.
