This incredible vintage concert tee was made to commemorate the 1990 Escape From New York Tour which featured four amazing acts: The Ramones, Debbie Harry, Tom Tom Club, and Jerry Harrison. The idea behind the aptly titled Escape From New York Tour was to showcase three of the defining bands of New York City's 1970s punk scene. New York gave birth to one of the earliest communities to claim the punk label, and several of the genre's most influential group's emerged out of that scene. This included the Ramones, Blondie, and Talking Heads, three groups that used to regularly perform at the iconic clubs Max's Kansas City and CBGB. In fact, one of Talking Heads' first ever gigs was opening for the Ramones at CBGB.

All three bands changed considerably from the 70s to the 90s. In 1990, The Ramones line up consisted of Joey, Johnny, C.J., and Marky, while Blondie had disbanded with Debbie Harry pursuing her solo career. Finally Talking Heads were on the brink of a break up, with members instead exploring side projects and solo careers. Thus the Escape From New York Tour offered fans a unique opportunity to see some of the biggest stars of the 70s performing together years after their initial rise to fame.
