This awesome tee depicts Zippy the Pinhead, a quirky comic strip character from the mind of Bill Griffith. Griffith began his cartooning career in New York during the late 1960s, where he published strips in the East Village Other and Screw Magazine. He later moved to the west coast and immersed himself  in the underground comics movement of the 70s. This was how Zippy was born, as the character first appeared in Real Pulp #1. The Zippy strip was then printed in the underground newspaper The Berkeley Barb before it became nationally syndicated.

Through the years, Zippy has garnered a beloved cult following. The character is based on the microcephalic performers that used to appear in old circus sideshows, and Griffith theorizes that he may have been inspired by a screening of Tod Browning's Freaks, which he attended while he was studying at the Pratt Institute. Zippy is known for his philosophical non sequiturs, and this tee has a variation on the character's catchphrase "Are we having fun yet?", instead saying, "I am having fun".
