This awesome double-sided tee advertises the 1998 Michael Bay film, Armageddon. The blockbuster hit wound up becoming the highest-grossing film of the year and was even nominated for four Academy Awards in the categories of Best Sound, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Editing, and Best Original Song which was attributed to Aerosmith's chart topping hit "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing". The band actually contributed four songs to the soundtrack, and the movie starred Steven Tyler's daughter Liv Tyler as the female lead.
Armageddon was a science fiction disaster film about a group of blue-collar oil drillers, who are recruited and trained by NASA to stop a giant asteroid from colliding with earth. This was Michael Bay's third collaboration with Jerry Bruckheimer, who landed Bay his first gig directing a feature film, Bad Boys.
Armageddon was panned by critics who picked apart its nonsensical and scientifically inaccurate plot. One of the movie's stars, Ben Affleck, even asked Bay why it was easier to train oil drillers to be astronauts rather than vice versa, to which the director responded, "shut up." Despite these criticisms, fans have enjoyed the film for what it is, a simple action-packed gem of the late 90s, and this shirt pays tribute to it with the cheeky tagline "Heads Up."
