This polo is to honor the Gamma Ray Observatory. The satellite is also known as the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory, or CGRO.

The objectives' of the Observatory were to study gamma rays, investigate evolutionary forces in neuron stars and black holes, provide details of nucleosynthesis and search for primordial black hole emissions.
