This great ringer tee is from a visit to The Fox Inn in Santa Monica, California. It features a goofy graphic of the Inn's proprietor Bill "The Fox" Foster promoting his 1988 drinking team. This seems to be a spoof of Team USA at the Los Angeles Olympics which took place four years earlier. The back features another Olympics-inspired graphic that says, "Fox Inn USA."
The Fox was an American comedian, musician, and businessman. He opened The Fox Inn during the 60s and performed there nightly until it closed in 1989. He was also the MC on the first season of Comedy Central's The Man Show along with hosts Adam Carolla. and Jimmy Kimmel. The Fox's specialty was chugging beers in record time, leading the audience in lewd drinking songs, and closing each episode with a German drinking toast. Unfortunately, The Fox passed away unexpectedly in 2000 from prostate cancer. The Man Show honored their beloved MC by closing every episode with The Fox's toast until the show's finale in 2004.
Fits like a modern unisex adult extra large. Repair on left shoulder, see pics.
