This amazing tee commemorates the 1995 World Lightweight Boxing Championship between rivals Oscar De La Hoya and Genaro Hernandez. Although both men found success in the ring, De La Hoya had an especially prolific career. De La Hoya represented the US in the 1992 Olympics, where he earned the nickname "the Golden Boy of boxing" and his career took off from there. He claims an impressive 11 world boxing titles and has been ranked the 38th best boxer in history.
Both men went into this match with high hopes. Hernandez was competing for his first ever WBO world title and De La Hoya was the fourth time defending champ. De Lay Hoya won the match in a technical knock-out in the sixth round. He swung at Hernandez with a left hook and broke the other man's nose.
