Gibson wasn't given a chance to play in the MLB because of the segregation still dominating the league in the 30s and 40s. However, he was a phenomenal hitter and some even referred to Babe Ruth as the white Josh Gibson! This tee is to celebrate when he played for the Homestead Grays in the Negro League. He played for the Grays from 1930-31, 1937-39, and 1942-26.
