This awesome double-sided concert tee celebrates the talented R&B singer Mary J. Blige, and it commemorates her No More Drama Tour, promoting her 2001 album of the same name. No More Drama was the follow up to Blige's incredibly successful Mary. Just like its predecessor, the album debuted at the number two spot on the Billboard 200, and it also made it to the top of the R&B Albums chart. No More Drama featured four singles, including the title song, "Dance for Me", "Rainy Dayz", and the wildly popular "Family Affair", which became Blige's first number one single on the Billboard Hot 100. "Family Affair" was also nominated for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 2002 Grammy Awards. Although the song didn't win, Blige did take home the award the following year for the track "He Think I Don't Know".
Mary J. Blige's career first began in the late 80s, and over time she has earned the revered title the "Queen of Hip-Hop Soul". During her early years, Blige sang background vocals for other artists, but in 1992 she released her own debut album What's the 411? The release was noted for helping to introduce a blend of R&B and hip hop sounds into the mainstream. A standout star even from the start, Blige has fourteen studio albums under her belt, and all of them have been Billboard 200 top ten hits.
Blige also began to pursue an acting career around the same time that she released No More Drama. She starred in the independent movie Prison Song, opposite fellow musician, Q-Tip. She went on to play various small and supporting roles for several years, until her break-out performance in 2017 as Florence Jackson in Mudbound. The role wound up adding the titles of Oscar and Golden Globe-nominated actress to Blige's already long list of accolades.
