This double-sided concert tee is for the band Kiss and it celebrates the 1984 promotional tour for their album Animalize. Kiss originally garnered fame, not just for their hard rocking music but also for their over-the-top stage personas, which were inspired by comic books characters. The most famous line up of the band featured Paul Stanley as the Starchild, Gene Simmons as the Demon, Peter Criss as the Catman, and Ace Frehley as the Spaceman, with all four dressed in crazy makeup and leather and studs. Animalize was released after the group chose to retire these characters, and the lineup instead featured Stanley, Simmons, Eric Carr on the drums, and Mark St. John on lead guitar.
Animalize went certified platinum and wound up being the band's best-selling album since their 1979 release, Dynasty. The biggest hit that was featured on the record was "Heaven's on Fire" whose video received heavy rotation on MTV and was also the only one to feature St. John.
