This vintage raglan pays tribute to the Christian metal band Stryper. The front features a portrait of the band and cites the Bible verse that inspired their name, Isaiah 53:5. While the front depicts the band in the same outfits that they dawned on the cover of their album Soldiers Under Command, the shirt is copyright 1986, which is the year they released their most successful album To Hell with the Devil. To Hell with the Devil was the first Christian metal album to ever achieve platinum status, and the record spawned popular MTV hits like "Free", "Honestly", and "Calling on You".
Stryper was actually only the second American Christian group to receive any airplay on MTV, and they were so popular that "Honestly" and "Free" became two of the most requested tracks on the daily music video countdown, Dial MTV.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There are some thin spots and the hems of the sleeves are starting to come undone.
