This awesome double-sided shirt is for the R&B group Bell Biv Devoe and the shirt celebrates the band's second studio album titled Hootie Mack. Released in 1993, Hootie Mack was the follow up to the group's wildly successful quadruple platinum debut Poison. It featured some of the top R&B producers at the time including Christ Stokes, L.A. Reid, and Babyface and managed to peak at the number 19 spot on the Billboard 200 and the number 6 spot on the Top R&B Albums chart.
Bell Biv Devoe was first formed in 1989 from three members of the group New Edition, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. When they released Poison in 1990, the group was credited with helping to pioneer the "new jack swing" style of the 1990s, which combined elements from hip-hop, funk, soul, and pop. Bell Biv Devoe's career has spanned over thirty years, and in that time they have only managed to release four albums but they have also toured constantly during that time both on their own and on several New Edition reunion tours.
The trio is also known for their association with the group Boyz II Men. Michael Bivens helped the other band to get their start and gave them his number after he was impressed by their rendition of New Edition's "Can You Stand the Rain".
