This awesome vintage Cranberries t-shirt commemorates the band's third studio album To the Faithful Departed, which was released in 1996. The Cranberries were an Irish alternative rock band that was first formed in 1989. This album was dedicated to the memory of Denny Cordell, who had been the one to sign the band to their label, Island Records, and Joe O'Riordan, who was the grandfather of the band's vocalist Dolores O'Riordan. The album wound up topping the charts in four countries, and it peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, making it their highest charting album in the US. The album featured the singles "Salvation", "Free to Decide", "When You're Gone", and "Hollywood".
By this point in time the band's combined albums had sold over 22 million copies around the world. They embarked on a 117 date world tour to promote their new album, but they wound up canceling several dates due to the failing mental and physical health of O'Riordan. Pressures from the industry lead to the singer suffering from paranoia, insomnia, and anorexia, and the band almost broke up, but they instead announced a short hiatus.
The band's next album wasn't released until 1999 and it was titled Bury the Hatchet. During the time between the two albums, O'Riordan was able to heal from her stress-induced ailments and she also gave birth to he first child. The Cranberries followed the new album with a 110 date world tour that drew more than a million fans, making it the most successful tour of their career.
