This wonderful shirt celebrates the legendary jam band the Grateful Dead, and it features a portrait of the famous Bertha, a rose adorned skeleton that was drawn by the artists Alton Kelly and Stanley Mouse. This iconic illustration, which is also often referred to as the Skull and Roses, was used for the cover of the Grateful Dead's self-titled live album from 1971. The image was based on a drawing done by the British book illustrator Edmund Joseph Sullivan, and this tee showcases the full graphic that was displayed thanks to a vertical gatefold cover.

The back of this shirt meanwhile includes another illustration from Mouse and Kelly, that was used to promote the band around the end the 70s and the early 80s. The image also includes lyrics from the song "Truckin'" that say, "what a long strange trip it's been", and the corresponding graphic actually gives a nod to the famous Keep On Truckin' cartoon by Robert Crumb.

This shirt essentially celebrates the Grateful Dead's legacy from their formation in 1965, until the year 1981. That year, the group released two corresponding live albums that were titled Reckoning and Dead Set. Both albums featured tracks recorded in 1980, which the group performed at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco and at Radio City Music Hall in New York.

Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt has some fading and runs throughout, see pics.
