This awesome ringer reps the daytime radio station KDAY, which used to be broadcast via 1580 AM. This shirt was made in the 70s, when KDAY was known for its soul and R&B format. The station gained popularity with Black and Latino listeners in the Greater Los Angeles area, and it eventually became one of the first local stations to play rap and hip hop music during the daytime. The station became a notable part of the burgeoning hip hop scene of the 80s, and their in-house DJ crew even featured icons like DJ Yella Boy and Dr. Dre.
