This distressed 70s concert tee is from Foghat's performance with Montrose and Head East in 1976 Huntsville, Alabama. Montrose consisted of Ronnie Montrose, Sammy Hagar, Bill Church, and Denny Carmassi. While the band was not a breakout success, they were influential in the hard rock/heavy metal genre, influencing groups like Iron Maiden. After leaving Montrose, Hagar later went on to become a member of Van Halen.
Head East, originally from Illinois, was formed by John Schlitt, Danny Piper, Roger Boyd, Larry Boyd, and Steve Huston as students at the University of Illinois. Their most famous single, "Never Been Any Reason," was featured in Dazed and Confused (1993), That '70s Show, and Friday Night Lights.
This shirt fits like a modern unisex adult Small. It is distressed, and has discoloration and small holes, see pics.
This item is from the estate of Craig MacGregor, the bassist for the band Foghat in the 1970s, 80s, and again in the 2000’s. The item was owned by Craig, a collector of t-shirts, and stored for some time in a basement before it came into our possession. As a result there may be some lingering basement odor. All items are authentic pieces of rock and roll history and in many cases are one-of-a-kind. Further authentication and chain-of-custody can be provided upon request.
