This vintage tee was specially made for someone named Connie of the Lindbergh Flyerettes Dance Team. It perfectly captures that 1970s vibes with fuzzy iron on, a soft cotton blend, and 2-sided print. Everything has held up amazingly and the shirt has tons of life left.

The Flyerettes were founded in 1969 as the Lindbergh Pom-Pon Squad by a Lindbergh High School student named Karen McNeil. Shortly after, Ms. Yvonne Etienne-Cole and Ms. Sandra Webb-Snodgrass, became the first teachers to sponsor the team.

The beginnings of the Flyerettes Dance Team were a bit rough. The allowed everyone who signed up to joined the team, no tryouts required, routines were hard to coordinate, and members dropped out regularly. Their performances at football games only earned them ridicule, made them a laughing stock, and nicknames like the "Marching Bulldogs."

Despite the struggles some Flyerettes still stuck around, and with promising leadership the team slowly transformed into a respectable crew by the fourth year. In 1980, they took home their first championship title at the MAPA city-wide high school pom-pon contest. In fact, they took home first place every year that entire decade. Over the years, the Flyerettes have come to be known as some of the best dancers in the St. Louis, Missouri area.

Fits like a modern unisex adult small. Double-sided print. "Connie" is fuzzy letter iron on.
