This epic tee is an original keepsake from the 1977 Diamond Head Crater Festival in Hawaii. It's aged incredibly well and ready for many more years of wear. Features a dreamy print, a front pocket, and classic Hanes tag for that old school look and feel. The graphic showcases a beautiful hula dancer and a vibrant rainbow.
Also known as the Sunshine Festival, these concerts were considered the Hawaiian Woodstock (plus far better weather) and featured some of the most iconic musicians of the era. As time went on, the fest became synonymous with 4th of July and New Years celebrations, bringing in crowds of 75,000+. Some years the event would extend into a two-day event due to popularity.
The 1977 Diamond Head concerts gave fans an amazing lineup consisting of Journey, Carlos Santana, Styx, and popular Hawaiian groups like Mackey Feary Band and Cecilio & Kapono. Locals and tourist alike would gather under the blazing sun for great music, hours of dancing, and plenty of doobies.
After a decade long run, the Sunshine Crater Fest was canceled by the State Department of Land and Natural Resources over concerns of its environmental impact and the surrounding community. Still, its legacy lives on through the fuzzy memories of attendees, nostalgic photo and videos, and amazing souvenir and collectibles like this vintage tee.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. Large graphic is on the back, pocket on the front.
