This delightful tee commemorates a performance of The Pirates of Penzance that was staged as a part of the New York Shakespeare Festival. The show was presented in the early 80s at the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park and it ran for 10 previews and 35 performances before it was moved to Broadway. This version of the comedic opera by Arthur Sullivan was a new iteration of the show that was produced by Joseph Papp, and it enacted a broader, more musical comedy, style of singing than Sullivan's original. Some of the featured actors in this production included Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits as Frederic, and Jim Belushi, the brother of late great comedian John Belushi, as The Pirate King.
The tag says small but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult extra small.
