This double-sided concert shirt announces that Chicago is back, and it was made for a 1982 concert tour that was held by the band. 1982 was the year that the group released their thirteenth studio album, which made it to the top ten of the Billboard 200. As the shirt suggests, many fans felt the release marked the band's comeback, and the album managed to go platinum by the end of the year. It also featured Chicago's second ever number one US single, which was "Hard to Say I'm Sorry". The song earned the band a Grammy Nomination for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.
The late 70s and early 80s were somewhat of a transitional period for the band, as they attempted to regain their footing following the death of their lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter, Terry Kath. During this period, they were dropped by their label, Columbia Records, who no longer believed the band were commercially viable. Their 1982 album was the first one with their new label, Warner Bros. and also the first in which they worked with composers outside of the band. It proved that Chicago still had more to give, and their next release in 1984 wound up being their best-selling record.
The tag says medium but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult small. This shirt comes with a ticket from the concert it was purchased at.
