This sweet shirt celebrates the 1982 Samurai III Nisei Week 5k Run which was sponsored by JA Optimist. During Nisei week they hold the Nikkei Games in which the 5k is ran, as well as martial arts competitions. Nisei Week is a seven day festival held in Little Tokyo Los Angeles, CA. The word "Nisei" means the first generation of Japanese immigrants that were born in America. There have been over 82 annual Nisei Week Festival, having been established during the era of the Great Depression. This shirt honors the heritage of Japanese Americans and their 5k annual run.
