This cool vintage shirt is a souvenir commemorating the 1995 iteration of the Seattle Asian American Film Festival. The first version of the event was founded in 1985 by a community-based Asian American media production company and advocacy group called KingStreet Media. The company was an offshoot of the International Examiner newspaper and in 1987 a second edition of the festival was held with the International Examiner as its producer. The event then went on hiatus until it was revived in 1994 by Emily Wong and William Satake Blauvelt. From 1994 to 1998, the SAAFF became the premiere Asian American film festival in the country showcasing directors like Ang Lee, Kayo Hata, Frieda Lee Mock, Kip Fulbeck, and Justin Lin.
