This sweet tee is from a unique sci-fi comic series, Starstruck. The comic was adapted from a stage play that was written by the same author, Elaine Lee. Lee also starred in the play as the heroic Captain Galatia 9. The story is set in an anarchic future, and follows Captain Galatia 9 and her partner Brucilla The Muscle through a series of surrealist sci-fi adventures. Lee met illustrator Michael Wm. Kaluta while doing the play, and he provided the poster costume, and set designs. Lee then recruited him for the artwork, once the play was transformed into a comic series.

The series has been published by multiple comics companies over the years. It appeared in  Heavy Metal  in 1982 and Marvel Graphic Novel in 1984. After that, the story was published by Epic Comics, Comico Comic, Dark Horse Comics, and then eventually IDW Publishing.
