This awesome striped surf tee is sweet vintage find from the early days of the Lightning Bolt surfboard company. Lightning Bolt was started in the early 70s by two surfers living in Honolulu, Hawaii: Gerry Lopez and Jack Shipley. Local surfers were attracted to the brand's quality board designs, and Lightning Bolt's popularity grew as they became the first surf brand to sponsor team riders with free boards. As their success grew, Lightning Bolt opted to expand into apparel, and they made clothes that surfers could wear both in and out of the water.

This shirt has a simple striped pattern, in a rich brown that's a perfect example of the type of earthy colors that were popular in the 70s. In addition, this shirt has the Lightning Bolt logo embroidered on the chest.
