This cool vintage tee promotes the animated series The Tick, which aired on Fox Kids back in the 90s. The cartoon was based off of the New England Comics series of the same name and the show's title character was designed to be a parody of mainstream superheros. The Tick was created by Ben Edlund, who initially conceived the character as a mascot for the New England Comics chain of stores.

Edlund was still in college and producing the Tick comic series independently, when he was approached by a small New Jersey based toy company called Kiscom, who were looking to merchandise the character. Kiscom led to Edlund getting in touch with Sunbow Entertainment, the studio responsible for The Transformers and G.I. Joe animated series, and they connected Edlund with Richard Liebmann-Smith. Together the pair were tasked with making a pitch for the series for Fox, despite neither of them having any television experience. Fox actually rejected the duo's initial pitch, but the pair worked tirelessly over the course of a single weekend to create a second pitch that was greenlit.

The animated series helped to draw much more attention to the comic books the show was based on, and The Tick also became a cult hit among adults, after Comedy Central chose to start syndicating the show. Since then, the series has garnered additional television adaptations including a live action series, starring Patrick Warburton as the eponymous Tick.

Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large. The shirt has some fuzzies stuck to it, see pics.
