This awesome shirt is from ZZ Top's World Wide Texas Tour in 1976. The tour was staged to help support the release of their 1975 album Fandango! which included the singles "Heard It on the X" and "Tush". This tour was meant to be much more extravagant and elaborate than their previous tours as they wanted to introduce Texas paraphernalia to the audience. A complex set involving several scrims and a stage shaped like Texas helped to create a western canyon landscape. Meanwhile band members Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill wore rhinestone embellished suits, hand-crafted boots, and cowboy hats to really complete the visual.

During a break in the tour the band created the album Tejas which helped to elaborate on the theme of the tour. The album included the singles "It's Only Love" and "Arrested for Driving While Blind". The band itself hails from Austin, Texas and they wanted the tour to capitalize on this aspect of the band's origins. Guitar World Magazine has referred to it as one of the most ambitious and bizarre tours in rock history.

The tag says Medium bu this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult Small. It has some wear and spots and has been shortened, see pics.

This item is from the estate of Craig MacGregor, the bassist for the band Foghat in the 1970s, 80s, and again in the 2000’s.  The item was owned by Craig, a collector of t-shirts, and stored for some time in a basement before it came into our possession.  As a result there may be some lingering basement odor. All items are authentic pieces of rock and roll history and in many cases are one-of-a-kind.  Further authentication and chain-of-custody can be provided upon request.
