This amazing vintage tee is for the iconic heavy metal band Metallica and the shirt is a keepsake from the group's 1988-1989 tour supporting their album ...And Justice For All. The album was the band's first release following the devastating death of their bassist Cliff Burton. Jason Newsted had been asked to join the band as Burton's replacement and he made his studio debut with the group on The $5.98 EP-Garage Days Re-Revisited. However fans noticed that Newsted's bass was noticeably under-mixed on the ...And Justice For All album, something which Newsted claims was a deliberate decision made by other members of the band.
Despite these disagreements within the group, ...And Justice For All became a huge critical and commercial success. With hit singles like "Harvestor of Sorrow", "Eye of the Beholder", and "One" the album managed to peak at the number six spot on the Billboard 200 and eventually was certified 8x Platinum.
This shirt features an image of the album's cover art on the front, which was designed by Stephen Gorman based off of a concept by the band's guitarist James Hetfiled and drummer Lars Ulrich. The image depicts Lady Justice bound by ropes in order to reflect the album's lyrical themes of political and legal injustice. The album was nominated for a 1989 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental but lost controversially to Jethro Tull.
Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. There is a repair on the front, see pics.
