This awesome tee pays tribute to Metallica, and this shirt highlights the group's song "The Shortest Straw", which was featured on their fourth studio album ...And Justice For All. This 1988 release was the band's first album to feature Jason Newsted, who was recruited after the devastating death of their founding bassist Cliff Burton.
...And Justice For All was a massive critical and commercial success, and in 1989, the album was up for the Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance Vocal or Instrumental. The award was instead given to Jethro Tull, and there was such a massive upset from fans, that the Recording Academy had to reevaluate their categories, and they ultimately chose to create two separate categories for the genres of hard rock and metal.
This tee features some amazing double-sided graphics created by Brian Schroeder, who is better known as the illustrator Pushead. Pushead is well known in the music industry for his numerous designs catering to hardcore and heavy metal musicians. In addition to Metallica, his clients have included Misfits, Dr. Dre, Travis Barker, and Rocket from the Crypt.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. The sleeves have been cut, see pics.
