This awesome surf t-shirt is for the beautiful island of Hawaii and it features the shaka brah hand sign underneath the words "Hang Loose". The gesture is meant to convey a number of sentiments including "right on", "thank you", and "take it easy". The symbol supposedly originated from a security guard named Hamana Kalili who worked at the Kahuku Sugar Mill. Kalili was missing his index, middle, and ring fingers and when he shook his hand it would appear as the shaka symbol. The phrase "Shaka Brah" was then popularized in the 1960s by used car salesman David "Lippy" Espinda, who would sign off his commercials with the phrase while using the gesture.
