This shirt is from the Grinnell College Army Specialized Training Program during World War II. The program at Grinnell started in 1943 and ended in March of 1944 with the entire ASTP discontinued in 1945. The ASTP was formed during WWII to train non-officers in specialized subjects such as communications or engineering. Famous members of the ASTP include Kurt Vonnegut, Gore Vidal, Henry Kissenger, Mel Brooks and Bob Dole. The program was abruptly canceled and these highly-educated soldiers were sent to the front lines of Europe.
This shirt has a graphic from the Grinnell College Pioneers with a pioneer wagon train and sunset. It says ASTP SCU 4770.
This shirt fits like a modern adult small.
There are two small holes on the shirt, see pics.
