This sweet shirt pays tribute to a beloved and long-running tradition. This shirt was made in the 60s for the Norristown Soap Box Derby. It was in the 30s, that the first ever Soap Box Derby event was held in Ohio. Not long after the Eastern Pennsylvania borough of Norristown was inspired to host their own race. The race gained sponsorship from Sears and was held along West Main Street. As the trend took off and interest grew, participants from neighboring suburbs sought to get in on the fun. Years later, the Norristown event has become a part of the Conshohocken Soap Box Derby, which is held every Fourth of July.
Fits like a modern unisex youth extra large. There is a small hole on the front, see pics.
