This vintage shirt is an Official Boy Scouts of America tee from all the way back in the 60s. This shirt was made for a member of the Boy Scouts' honor society known as the Order of the Arrow, a group that can be traced back all the way to 1915. Initially it was established as a Camp Fraternity by E. Urner Goodman and Carroll A. Edson, who were the Director and assistant Camp Director of the Treasure Island Scout Reservation. The idea was to help encourage older scouts to continue attending the camp, and it eventually became an official BSA program in 1948.
The OA puts a great emphasis on being a youth-led organization, and members must be under the age of 21 to vote and hold elected offices. Admittance into the Order of the Arrow gives scouts access to various national service opportunities and events like the National Order of the Arrow Conference.
Fits like a modern unisex adult small. There are some spots and a hole on the back, see pics.
