This special tee is from an Aquatic Meet held all the way back in 1969. This meet took place in Long Beach, California and looks to have been part of a larger event called the Sea Festival.

An aquatic meet often refers to a lifeguard competition and beach party. This tee is an excellent piece of Long Beach history. California began developing a lifeguard program in the 50s due to the uptick in beach attendance and residence. By the end of the 60s, the young lifeguards had created a culture and community around fun in the sun.
