This awesome tee was made for finishers of the 1979 Manhattan Beach 10K Run. This celebrated road race is held each year as a part of what was originally known as the Manhattan Beach Old Hometown Fair. The fair was started in 1972 to encourage a sense of community among Manhattan Beach residents. Meanwhile this tee is from the early days of the 10K race, which was launched in 1978. The race initially tasked runners with looping the Manhattan Beach Pier, but has since grown to have one of the most scenic courses in California's South Bay area. Just like the rest of the fair, the run is considered a community-wide event, and each year it attracts thousands of runners of all ages.
