This awesome tee is a sweet piece of 70s surfwear. Printed on the predecessor to the classic Stedman Hi Cru tee, this shirt has a colorful double sided design of a logo that reads, "Surfboards Hawaii". Surfboards Hawaii was once the name of a legendary brand of boards that was launched in the early 60s. The company was created by Dick Brewer and John Price, and it used to boast expertly crafted boards that were ridden by big wave icons like Buzzy Trent and Fred Van Dyke.
Brewer himself was a highly regarded board shaper, responsible for crafting many of the company's boards. He grew up amongst the California surf scene before moving to Hawaii. When he and Price opened Surfboards Hawaii in Haleiwa, it became the first surf shop on the North Shore. During its heyday the shop also sold surfboards from other celebrated shapers like Donald Takayama, Ben Aipa, and Mike Slingerland.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. This shirt is soft and distressed with several holes and spots, see pics.
