This was shortly after the band released their fourth studio album titled What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits. During that time the band consisted of Tom Johnston, Patrick Simmons, Tiran Porter, John Hartman, Michael Hossack, and Keith Knudsen, although they were also joined on tour by Steely Dan's Jeff "Skunk" Baxter. This tee also mentions Martin Wolf, a Denver-based concert promoter who worked with the band. Wolf was the group's lighting director, who also put them in contact with personnel like Chas Barbour, the artist who designed the cover for What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits.

What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits notably produced the band's first number one single, "Black Water". It was also one of the last albums released before Michael McDonald joined the band. McDonald was another former member of Steely Dan, who was brought in to replace Tom Johnston on vocals. Johnston had struggled with stomach ulcers since his high school years, and his health issues were exacerbated by the Doobies' extensive touring. Johnston fell severely ill during the promotional tour for Stampede, the follow up to What Were Once Vices Are Now Habits, which was what prompted the band to hire McDonald.

Fits like a modern unisex adult Extra Large.
