This awesome tee commemorates the B-52s' Cosmic Thing Tour, which was launched to promote their 1989 album of the same name. Cosmic Thing was the band's first studio album to be recorded without their former guitarist Ricky Wilson. Wilson had passed away in 1985 from AIDS related complications, and his death had left the group devastated. Although they proceeded to go on a short tour for their album, Bouncing Off the Satellites, the group needed time to grieve their loss before they were ready to get back in the studio.

Cosmic Thing wound up being a wildly successful comeback, and it produced hit singles like "Roam", "Deadbeat Club", and "Love Shack". The latter earned the group the 1990 MTV Video Music Award for Best Group Video, and it arguably became their best-known song.
