This awesome cut up punk tee was made to advertise a show from the band DRI, also known as Dirty Rotten Imbeciles. This crossover thrash band originally formed in Texas before moving to California in the early 80s. The shirt comes from a show that was staged a few years after their move, at the Balboa Theater in San Diego, and the concert was a part of their Animosity Tour that ran from 1985 to 1986. Other bands that performed alongside them that night included Corrosion of Conformity, Beowulf, Dr. Know, and Hirax.
The Balboa Theater had originally been built in 1924, but it didn't become a significant venue among punk and metal fans until after it was restored in 1985. Some other bands that were hosted at the theater in the 80s included No Mercy, Exodus, Possessed, Death Angel, and Black Flag.
This 1986 show was staged while DRI was touring extensively in support of their second full-length album Dealing with It! and it was during this tour that the band started gaining significant attention. This was thanks to the group playing shows alongside other notable thrash groups like Slayer, Anthrax, and Overkill, while still performing with hardcore bands such as Discharge, Bad Brains, and Descendents.
Fits like a modern unisex adult large. This shirt is soft and thin and the sleeves and neck have been cut. There is a thin spot on the right side while wearing and a small hole, see pics.
