This sweet vintage shirt features the title character from the 1982 Steve Spielberg classic E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and the shirt uses the little alien to advertise Reese's Pieces candy. Within the movie E.T. is famously lured into the Taylor household by Elliot using a trail of Reese's Pieces. The script originally called for Elliot to use M&M's, but Mars Inc. refused to allow their candy in the movie as they worried that E.T. would frighten their young customers. The production crew instead approached Hershey's who had no issue allowing their candy to be used for the film. The product placement actually resulted in a huge increase in Reese's Pieces sales.

The animatronics used to bring E.T. to life were created by special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi, who earned an Academy Award for his work on the film. This was Rambaldi's second Academy Award, and his first was actually the result of his work on another very famous but very different motion picture alien, the xenomorph depicted in Riddley Scott's science fiction horror film Alien. While E.T.'s head was brought to life using puppetry, creature suits were created to portray the body and they were worn by two little people as well as a young boy who was born without legs. Meanwhile E.T.'s hands were portrayed by a professional mime who was outfitted with prosthetics.

Fits like a modern unisex adult medium. This shirt is very soft and thin.
