This sweet long sleeved tee promotes SST Records, and it parodies the Parental Advisory label with a graphic that instead says, "fuck parental advice". SST is an independent record label that was founded back in 1978. It was created by Greg Ginn, who initially used it to release material from his band Black Flag, but overtime SST grew into one of the most popular underground record labels of the 80s.
Originally SST was a vessel for hardcore punk bands to release music without having to deal with more conservative mainstream labels. They worked with bands like Minutemen, Saccharine Trust, Husker Du, Sonic Youth, and Bad Brains, but they also began diversifying their catalog over time. SST played a major role in helping to establish an underground network of alternative bands prior to the rise of the alt rock scene in the 90s. They went on to produce records for bands like Screaming Trees, Soundgarden, Saint Vitus, Dinosaur Jr., and Meat Puppets before their influence started to decline. While they were later surpassed by other indie labels like Sub Pop, SST still played an integral role in the development of 80s alternative music.
The tag says extra large but this shirt fits like a modern unisex adult large. The red box is for censorship purposes and doesn't appear on the actual shirt.
