Hands Across America was public benefit event held on Sunday May 25, 1986, in which approximately 6.5 million people held hands for fifteen minutes to form a continuous human chain across the contiguous United States. It was a project of USA for Africa and backed by major corporate sponsors like Coca Cola and Citibank.

Numerous celebrities took part including Brooke Shields, Liza Minnelli, future President Bill Clinton, and President Ronald Regan. HAA went on to raise about $15 million which was donated to local charities in combating hunger, homelessness, poverty.

The amazing legacy of Hands Across America continues to live on through millions of participants, pop culture references like in the 2019 psychological horror film 'Us', directed by Jordan Peele, and awesome memorabilia and collectibles like this vintage tee.
