This sweet vintage sweatshirt was made from a super soft tri-blended material by the brand Hawaii Island Creations. HIC dates back to the early 70s, when it just a small surf shop run by the Tsukayama brothers in Kailua, Hawaii. Over the years, HIC managed to grow their brand and they eventually opened seventeen different locations across the Hawaiian Islands.  

This shirt features double-sided graphics as well as the HIC logo down both sleeves. The neon back graphic features kooky cartoon characters that resemble the artwork commonly found in underground comix during the 1960s and 70s. This type of art was often used as inspiration for graphic apparel, particularly from surf and skate brands who resonated with the counter cultural images.
